Case 01 · Real job
The E60 that several garages couldn't fix
The car had been through several garages and had finally stopped running. On the M54, the cooling system is the main killer. Our diagnosis showed the engine had overheated in the past and the cylinder head had already been worked on.
Rather than rebuild a damaged engine, we sourced a used M54 locally and tested it before buying: compression, cylinder wall inspection and a leak-down test. It passed, and we took its wiring harness too.
- Fitted the tested engine and harness
- Flushed the radiator and replaced every coolant hose
- Tested the electric fan and all sensors
The car now drives like new. The only warning light left is from the owner's muffler delete.
